To Fortescue Road House

It was cold this morning as we left and Werner has on all the warm gear



Looks like this caravan is doing the right thing and giving plenty of room as it passes Werner



Just about there today and only have to cross this bridge and I am at the Road House.



The Fortescue Road House was really run down and only had 4 powered camp sites behind it.I think that in the future there will be some big renovations



Here comes Werner at the left hand side.At the right hand side is a very rough toilet block.

To Miaree Pool Rest Area

Last night we camped behind the Shell service station just out of Karratha.It was a real rough looking spot,but it was free if you brought petrol from the roadhouse so that's OK.



The next morning it was only a 18km drive to this nice spot next to the Maitland River.



In parts you would have needed a 4WD to get to some of the camp spots.But it was no way the van could have gone there, but we were happy where we parked on top of the hill.



From our camp spot we could see people fishing and swimming in the river.

Happy Birthday Bill

It was great to see Bill, Moira and Arron in Karratha. We went for a drive out to Dampier and had a lovely picnic lunch, then back to the pup in Karratha for some Birthday drinks
