I had only gone less than 1 km when Werner radioed for me to wait and as you can see on the bike the reason was a snapped cable and I have the spare cable in the van.We were lucky we were not very far apart when it happened.
I waited in Mt Garnet and when Werner arrived he asked had I been into town yet.My reply was this is town.
57 km to go to our camp ground at Mt Surprise and I have just turned onto the Savannah H'way.I have heard so much about this high way with just a single lane of bitumen down the center and you have to get right over to the side when big trucks come and I was told how dangerous it is. Great I thought that all I need.
So off I went and I tell you,I have had no problems so far. Its OK because the van knows what to do anyway.
Even Werner has handled the road well.But some drivers want you to do all the moving over so they can stay on the seal stripe.That is not how it is suppose to work.
