To PT Samson

I spoke to soon about flat scenery gone its back again and heaps of it.

Only 27km and then Werner will drive into Karratha before returning back to Roebourne and cycle the last 19 km to PT Samson

On the right hand side I could just see Roebourne township coming into sight

This is coming into PT Samson

I still can remember this beach at Pt Samson when I was here a few years ago. I can't wait to have a long walk down by the sea near the rocks

To Sherlock river Rest Area

It was good to see some hills after seeing nothing but flat scenery

A nice River to camp by and its free.

The camp area was small and I had to wait a while before the 2 campers left and then I could get a nice place to park before Werner arrives.

To get to the last couple of free camp spots the roads in are very rough and Werner has to be careful and miss all the pot holes.

It was good to get out and go for a long walk along the river where parts was only on dry river rocks

Here is me climbing back up to the main road after doing a loop of the river

To Peawah River rest Area

Don't know where Werner will sleep tonight, as I found this Sway beside the road early this morning.

Werner coming in to the Rest Area in a bit of a hurry.

And I can now see the reason.

Its slowly getting full of more caravans at this free 24 hour stop.

To Port Hedland

As we left De Grey River Rest area you could see a lot more caravans parked close to the main road.We were parked close to the river about a 500meters driver in on a dirt road.

Just starting to see the out skirts of Port Hedland.

This was such a unorganized camp ground and we will be glad to leave.

On our rest days at Port Hedland we visited the docks to check out the ships being loaded with iron orr

To De Grey Rest Area

I past a few road side fires, but they were not all that big and know one seems to worry about them

I will be glad to get to some more interesting country side.

Werner looking happy, could be a small tail wind today.

Nice camp spot, until later in the day when it was totally packed

I said to Werner this was like the old movies when they tied ladies to the railway tracks

And here comes the train. This was what you saw from the side of our camp spot.We had gone for a walk over the railway bridge after lunch.

And now its the end of another great day.

To Pardoo

After waking this morning I went out side to look at the area which we had parked at last night at about 10.30pm as it was pitch black and you could not see a thing.

We left today not as early as usual after Werner big ride yesterday.Werner eyes are very sore so not sure how far he will bike today. The area is flat and you can see for miles, lots of nothing.

A long the way I could see some sand dunes, so the sea can not be all that far away only we wont be going near it yet until Prt Hedland.

It was good to get to Pardoo Road House camp ground and have a nice refreshing shower after yesterdays big day.

This is the front of the road house not much from the outside but some nice food inside.

To Rest Area somewhere past Sandfire road housee

This is me in the van at about 10 minutes after midnight at the beginning of Werner's 24 hour bike ride

And Werner is keen to get started on his challenge

As you can see not many shady rest area's on the way and the 286 km one is Sandfire R/House

This was at 180 km where we stopped and had our first big rest

There is not much to look at and there is quite a strong head wind.

I am at the side of road cheering Werner on

We were back to the dark again and Werner is still doing very well.It will be his call when he has had enough.

Well done Werner, great effort I know this was team work on our part, but Werner differently did all the hard work and it makes me feel proud of him.

To Roebuck Road house

A cheeky face coming around the side off the van,I bet Werner wants to know if I have made morning tea yet.

Another short day of 71km and I arrived at the Roebuck Road House. Coming up on my right is a camp area at the side off petrol station. The road on the left is the one I'm looking forward to head down, which is to Port Headland. But that is a few days away as we want to check out Broome and just relax for a few days first.

When Werner arrives as usual other camper want to no how far he has ridden today, and are always surprised he here what he has done so far.

The beautiful beach called Cable Beach in Broome which we visited in the afternoon.

And on the other side the not so beautiful beach at Broome with its mud flats. It was just a quick visit to Broome today but we will come back on Monday when Werner will cycle into from Roebuck road house which is only 33 km away.At Broome I will stock up on groceries before we head off Monday night heading that little closer to home.We should be in Karratha by the 31st of July.

To Nillibubbica rest Area

Before we left Derby we drove down to see if the tide was in as we had only seen it at low tide.We were in luck although I don't think the tide was full in yet but was very close to it.I am here taking a photo of small fish swimming on the top of the water.

Here are the fish, someone said they were pop eyed mullet, but I have no idea what they were.

Some more long one way bridges to cross today and there was quite a lot of water flowing under it.

Now this was great to see as I crossed a bridge 2 croc's sunning them selfs. It bring home the real facts that there are croc's up North in the rivers.

And after only driving 74 km from the Derby turn off I arrived at the camp stop for the night. It was not easy to find shade so we once again had to move around a shelter shed as the sun moved
